New D-CARBONIZE Project Seeks PhD Candidates Interested in Circular Polymers and Materials

The D-CARBONIZE project, led by the Institut Català d’Investigació Química (ICIQ), is a joint doctorate network that aims at using circular chemistry approaches to design and build recyclable bioplastics using biomass as a starting material.

D-CARBONIZE is currently looking for twelve PhD candidates who wish to focus on biocarbon-based value chains in sustainable circular polymers and materials through innovative (de)polymerisation catalytic strategies.

These PhD students will be part of a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary team comprising six academic groups, five companies, and an industry association, all committed to achieving a common goal.

Each doctoral candidate will be hosted in two different host institutions and will receive a double doctoral degree. Additionally, they will undergo relevant training at the industrial partners’ facilities and receive extensive network-wide training in science and technology, business, and transferable skills.

The D-CARBONIZE project offers an excellent opportunity to work with a European-wide consortium of leading high-education institutions, research centers, and companies, thus gaining a wide range of skills and experience in both R&D and entrepreneurship.

More information on these opportunities, how to apply, and the recruitment process can be found here.
